johnb, thanks for the info. i just realized i am wayyyy behind. im still on 3.5.13. i had to wipe my eyes clean to make sure i was looking at the right numbers.
when i upgraded to vista, it really slowed down my pc. i had to no choice but to switch back to xp then. when windows 7 came out, i tried and i have been a happy camper since then.
agree with daisy. however, getting a laptop will allow you internet or pc access everywhere. when you are at home, should you wish a bigger screen, you can always hook it up with an external monitor, keyboard and mouse. it is like having a pc.
yep, you can get an external optical drive with it. some offers it with the netbook but some sells it separately. graphics may not be that good but good enough to handle surfing and some applications.
agp, pcie or pci; you have to find out which of these your pc uses. install Belarc Advisor to audit your pc. then depending on your needs, decided if you are gonna get a 512 or 1gb.
agree with the majority. so far so good but the ram. i will go for kingston or crucial. wont recommend mushkin. i had a not so good experience with them
512mb is built in I guess. When it says 1gb max, then that it already includes the built in memory. If you put 1gb in the free slot, the MB will just use it as 512mb.
