I am sorry but I am not going to dream but I am going to point out that your system, to put is blunt, sucks. In terms of performance against core 2 duo that is. With that you could get a core 2 duo that kicks the junk out of the computer. Though I like that system it is just to old.

u wanna prove that
i am a intel fan recently until OC took over my life by storm
try to do that to a core 2 duo

???? core 2 duo are known to be the best overclockers of all time.
Ex. E6300 -
Original speed : 1.83 ghz
Known to overclock to : 3ghz easily and more.

yea i agree but sum1 did just that and the shit overheated
he had liquid cooling n everything
ends up buying another core 2 duo

Core 2 duo outperform most everything and when I say this I mean everything. There are quite a few people on this forum that have overclocked their core 2 duo's by at least - at least - 1 ghz and more. Check out these benchmarks and compare everything the core 2 duo has to everything else.

Also, the E6600 and probably the E6400 would outperform the 5200+ at almost half the price! Also, I will state in advance someone will back me up on these statements.

EDIT: ^^^^ I was also going to mention that too lb562high :)

check HERE to see benchmarks... although they don't show an AMD X2 5200+... the X2 5000+ is trumped by the E6700 and the EX6800 in almost all tests...

For aruond $1500, I bought the setup in my sig, which is much better then yours.

For starters, buy an E6600 for around $300, which is a much better performer and OCer.

Two, dont spend $480 on 2GB of RAM when a $220 set will do just fine.

Three, use the money savings from the RAM and buy an 8800GTS/GTX.

What hard drive are you getting?

Core 2 Duo PWNS

It's not about liking AMD or Intel. I own both. It's about performance for your $. If you want the best bang for your buck buy a Core 2 Duo. Your AMD 5200 costs $425 and the C2D E6300 costs $181. The E6300 will also overclock higher and STOMP it in the benchmarks. Not to mention the E6600 is only $309. Soooo I'd say that's not "hating on AMD" but bang for buck. I mean why pay $30,000.00 for a Ford Ranger when $25K will get you a really nice sports car? That's more the argument....common sense....which can be well....tough to communicate :p :D :p

I recommend you do some research before spending your $$ as you will be happier in the long run. Also yes it is possible to burn up ANY cpu when overclocking even with watercooling. IF you're not smart about it and just go off half cocked raising the Voltages like crazy or maybe he didn't have his waterblock seated right for the best cooling or he had no flow who knows. OC'ing is a very slow and tedious process.

I'm not knockin your deam machine. I just would like to see you get the best performance for your $. Also what screen size are you going to be running on? What resolution? Becuase an E6300 and 8800GTS would push anything up to 1900x1200 at max settings. Unless you're running HD resolutions of 2568x1600 or higher you don't need an 8800 anything SLI'd. It's overkill. Just like the X6800 is overkill. Get the E6600 and overclock it to 2.93GHZ then BAM same CPU for $632 cheaper. Pretty sweet huh?

I'd drop your system specs to a reasonable level and spend the extra cash on maybe oh a 37" HD LCD 1080P Monitor or something. That's what I did. It compliments my sweet rig a lot better than something smaller. I mean why drop $2000 on a sweet system only to have a rinky dink monitor. Because the monitor is what you're ALWAYS looking at anyway :D .

I like the idea you have for your rig. You're on the right track I'd just really spend some time seeing what the best way to drop your hard earned money is. Remember it's SO easy to overkill right now. You DO NOT NEED anything over a 7900GS to run 1280x1024 resolutions. :p :D :p
