Never Ordered A Custom Laptop Before

I have been wanting to do this for awhile now. With my health issues and there is alot of waiting for doctors and possibly a hospital stay in the future, I am wanting a laptop that will do everything. I just started playing games on the computer within the last few months. I have been playing Dirt Showdown and Battlefield Bad Company 2. This is just an idea of what I am playing. Those are not the only two.

I have had Toshiba's, Sony's and HP's in the past and have had good luck with all of them. I have been leaning towards a HP. Here is what I came up with from their site:

G7z-2200 series

Operating system Windows 8 64

Processor AMD Quad-Core A10-4600M Accelerated Processor (3.2GHz/2.3GHz, 4MB L2 Cache)

Graphics card 1GB AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7670M Discrete-Class Graphics

Display 17.3-inch diagonal HD BrightView LED-backlit Display (1600 x 900)

Memory 8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)

Hard drive 1TB 5400RPM Hard Drive

Primary battery 6-Cell Lithium-Ion Battery

Primary optical drive Blu-ray player & SuperMulti DVD burner

Personalization HP Webcam with Integrated Digital Microphone

Networking 802.11b/g/n WLAN

I could care less about the webcam and mic...not way I cannot get it without it. This is at $884.99

I did look at the Toshiba. More expensive.

Intel® Core™ i7-3630QM Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.40 GHz) with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology

16GB DDR3 1600MHz (8GB + 8GB)

1TB (5400rpm, Serial ATA)

1GB DDR3 AMD Radeon™ HD 7670M Graphics

Blu-ray Disc™ RE with SuperMulti DVD±R/RW Double Layer drive

Wi-Fi® Wireless networking (802.11b/g/n) with Bluetooth® (v4.0)

17" Screen too

$1,184.99

Sony VIAO E Series

3rd gen Intel® Core™ i7-3632QM quad-core processor (2.20GHz / 3.20GHz with Turbo Boost)

Windows 8 64-bit

No Fresh Start

17.3" LED backlit Full HD display (1920 x 1080)

AMD Radeon™ HD 7650M (2GB) dedicated graphics [$80.00]

1TB (5400rpm) hard drive [$20.00]

8GB (4GB x2) DDR3-1600MHz [$80.00]

Blu-ray Disc™ player / burner [$150.00]

Standard lithium-ion battery (5300mAh)

17" Screen

$1119.99

It seems that the HP has more options to play with then the Sony or Toshiba. Not sure which way to go. Never done this before with a laptop.

That does sound alot better. Far as lighter...dont really care about weight.

As far as ASUS goes....I went through that whole ordeal over 2 years ago. I was trusting I was trusting my business to a place here in Springfield IL called Computer Deli. I am not saying they are a bad place. They are huge on the ASUS motherboards. You cant get anything but a ASUS board there. 3 years I went getting boards from there for builds. One project i had here was a video only computer. This was for us here at the house to load it up with videos and let it go. 3 years...6 boards. One day I got to watch something and the damn thing wouldnt turn on. I called ASUS...they gave me a number and an address in Indiana. Sent it there 2 week...new board. 6 months later back out again. I gave up after the 6th one. So I boycotted all ASUS products after that. Once I replaced the last one with a Biostar....not a problem since. And yes still using it as the old ladys computer now with all the same components from the board. This is 3 years later.

Some annoying kid at Best buy tried selling me a ASUS laptop when the old lady wanted one 2 years ago. I was looking at a HP DV7. This kid kept on the whole buy this...its the best. After me telling him 25 times I wouldnt buy an ASUS if it was the last thing on the face of the earth and I had to walk to get to a certain website...I finally got his manager. At that time I got 200.00 off a HP we was looking at.

So ASUS is a very bad word to mention to me. Its like a Ford to me.
