Remake a Game?

Have you ever played a somewhat old, not-so-popular game and thought to yourself "What if a company made a new version of this game, with improved graphics and gameplay, but with the same plot?" I have these two games that I just LOVE and here are some videos with their gameplay:

Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force was an amazing game to me, basically because I'd never really had any cool Star Trek games before, and I LOVE Voyager. The graphics could have been a bit better. They were only running on the Quake 3 engine.

Now, someone made a mod map for Elite Force II (another kickass Star Trek game BTW :)) that showed what the original Elite Force would have looked like with the Quake 4 engine. I was blown away by the amazing quality of the map! If only Raven Software had waited a few more months before shipping EF1 :(

jazz the jackrabbit, and a GOOD mario, for playstaion 3 as well, one where it is just classic azz mario, no extra new items or characters thrown in, just basic, with tons of levels.

Tachyon was quality!! I got my joystick (which I found yesterday :eek:) just for that and MS flight simulator 2000.

I would quite like theme hospital remade, but only with better graphics and sounds, no change of gameplay or new content or anything like that

It's amazing how much the graphics have changed for the good i may add.
I think my first game that i loved was Sonic on my Sega and i dont think
i would enjoy it as much on my PC.:)

Same for the PS2. That was an insane remake for taking a side scrolling topic to a 3D environment. It gets props for being the most insanely challenging game that I somehow still loved to play instead of getting frustrated at it. By far one of the most entertaining games I ever played. Such a crazy maelstrom of war.

Yeah Tachyon is AMAZING with a joystick... funny thing is, it'd be freakin' sweet with EyeFinity. Think about it, Crysis and all these well-known games get so much un-needed attention from EyeFinity, but the real games that need it are older ones!

Well, the new deadliest warrior video game that was just released on xbox live could use a remake, I mean, it has a spectacular plot, but the game play is just awful.

holy crap that would be awesome. But it would need better graphics though, I'm not a graphics junkie or anything, but I don't think it would be as appealing today as a new game if it didn't compare with how todays games looked.

I so can't wait for black mesa to come out, but I'm not holding my breath for it coming out any time soon, or maybe even ever :(

Ok so who here is going to get the new remake of Goldeneye 007 when it comes out?? That's right! Only me! :p

As evidence by the "what do you favor least to most XBOX360, Wii, PS3" thread, looks like everyone here hates the Wii.

oh yeaa - like i got Super Mario Bros. for an old Nintendo NES - legend game - probably one of the best games of all time!
