i read on ign where they didn't consider themselves to be an mmorpg because you didn't have to pay, or something like that..

I rather think t is one, because MMORPG means Massive Multyplayer online RPG, does it? that name doesnt say anything about payment for it, bt its definately a mmorpg :)
it doesnt mater what they say on ign,. i mean, if AMD says their X2 isnt a processor on ign,.. would you believe it? ^_^

You might need mental help if you believe that WOW can enter your blood stream and cause a dependency. I'm sure that you perhaps meant that It could cause physical strain caused by hours of game play? or something similar? :p. If so then Not the same thing sorry. A physical addiction would be when your body becomes accustomed to having foreign substances and then you suffer the withdrawl effects when it is no longer introduced such as vomiting, shaking etc.

Sooooo before you disagree with my comment think seriously about it first.

Edit:

That is very interesting. Could you point me to that health article?

Okay...Icould have sworn I was in reality in real life reading the article....I could have sworn I wasn't in a dream....or I wasn't on drugs.....But I can't find any of them anymore....I have pretty crappy memory but ussaly I dont remember things, not rememebr thigns that didn't happen....Maybe I was wrong..I sersoily have no clue i cuold have sworn i read an article on it...

hi @ all,

my question is: are there ports to forward so my ping is lower, what ports does WoW use and what protocol, TCP or UDP? and yeah, not the WoW downloader port, i need ports that WoW servers use, is there a difference if the server is private? thx

Its not really the game thats addictive. its the people. any offline games i have played get boreing after i beat it. and so do rpgs. but when you add real people into the mix. its just so much better. and its a cheaper way of hanging out with friends, insted of spending 20/30$'s a weekend going to movies or something. you can run around and slay stuff. /lol

WoW is a great game.. I played for a while.. now my computer crashed due to a bug probably.. but since I cant seem to fix that one.. im buying a new one... and get back to WoW asap!!

If you like rpg games.. than you will defintly like mmos... just leveling up and be higher level than other people.. gives you a sense of .. improvement..

one thing that is a must... so the game will not get boring.. go to a PvP server!! which means in WoW if you are in a "contested area" anyone of the oposing faction can kill you.. or you kill them.. its not like high level characters come and camp out on the lowbies... Blizzard doesn't allow it.. so you have "uncontested areas" till you get very familiar with the game..

I could talk about it all day long.. if you have any questions.. or want someone to hang out with on the same server.. email me.. [email protected]

That may be but you lack the basic social interaction with these people. Over the internet you do not develop conversational skills as typing or going on programmes such as ventrillo or teamspeak you cannot have a conversation. You can take your time to think about what you want to say or avoid a situation and body language doesn’t even come into the equation.

I would much rather go out with my mates for a drive or go to a party or even have a few quite drinks at home as you actually doing something with your life. Games are VERY fun I agree. But some people don't know where to draw the line on such things. Say if you spend 500 hours on a game. Where has that got you? It may have got you to lvl 60 on WoW with epic equipment. But i the real world that time could have been spent much more wisely going out socialising, helping a charity or even making more money. I do understand it is away to escape from things and have a goodtime. But these things should NEVER be seen to replace going out with mates as it just isn’t socialising and I am speaking from experience here.

Sorry if this has come across harsh or offended anyone. And sorry as it’s not what the threads about but I had to say it.
