when i go into dxdiag on vista it says my video card has 1016mb when its only 256mb. does any one kno y it does that?
mabe you should down grade to Xp Jk but seriously mabe theres a bit of overclocking goin on or vista has a bug displaying it at 1gb once i rember my comp had 1g of ramm but displayed as 99Mb
^^ Exactly Your vid card uses part of your memory along with the onboard memory on the vid card.
Lol I suprise myself sometimes ahhaha... K so if it's partially the cache file, where is the cache file located?
And also it's my understanding you can increase the size of a cache file, would that be possible to do and if so would it be wise to do so if your a gamer?
**EDIT** You already answered my question sorry I didn't read carefully..
you asked this question for Vista OS but you have mentioned that the OS is Windows XP in your system configuration field.
