yeah I'll definitely post it up once it happens again, I just turned off 'automatically shutdown'

I'll check this thread in a few hours, time to go to school.:)

well i just tried that^ and both worked well. could it possible be inserting ram into the wrong ports? there's a port sequence i have of red yellow red yellow, how should i put it in? both yellow? both red? red and yellow?

What specific error (if any) is popping on the BSoD?

Also, have you...

Reset CMOS?
Double- and triple-checked every MoBo connection (wires and card slots)?
Tried booting to Safe Mode?

What specifically are you doing when it crashes and how does it crash (lock up, reboot, etc.)? What were you doing when it BSoD'd? If it's a driver issue, it's usually easily fixed via your MoBo's Driver CD or with a visit to Windows Update to apply any and all driver updates and patches. BTW, love the Elite 330:)

Edit: 2 different vid cards?

I don't know what CMOS is but I'll look into my motherboard manual and take a look at it. usually I crash when I'm browsing the internet or just playing online computer games, and I can't remember what happened when I BSOD and it only happened once. I'm not really a computer expert... so I wouldn't know what to do in safe mode and I only have one video card. appreciate any kind of help I can get :)

edit// when i crash it's usually a freeze and the screen just goes frozen and I have to press the reset button myself, the screen also just went black blank and had the error crashing kinda noise while I was playing online games and I also had to press the reset button to get back on

i'd run memtest for an hour to check the ram.

did you install a codec pack like klite/etc?

mine kept on freezing on me. not only watching vids but random things like inserting a blank dvd. i'd uninsall it/reinstall it or just install the necessary codecs

also try upgrading the vid card driver

yeah... I wanted to try memtest but I don't have a floppy (who uses these nowadays) nor a CD but I do have a USB but it gets confusing with all the bootable stuff, like I said, I'm not computer expert. although, if you can give me a tut on how to make it work on a USB it would be great :)

edit// any help guys? I've been trying to fix this thing for hours trying to figure out what to do

so I asked my cousin to help me. she told me that my motherboard can't handle the ram. is there any settings that I can chance for it to allow me to use my full 4 gig?

I don't know what CMOS is but I'll look into my motherboard manual and take a look at it.

Basically, turn off the PSU and remove the battery on the MoBo for 30 seconds - CMOS will be cleared. Replace the battery and turn on the PSU - power up your system and enter BIOS. Select the "Load Optimal Default" option and things BIOS-wise are good.

Regarding memory, that doesn't sound right. Your Board supports up to 8 GB (2GB * 4 sticks).

do the plugs have to be pulled out or can i just turn the power switch off for 30 seconds? i tried it with the switch and it still freeze. i can't even pull out my plugs, it feels like i'm going to break it when i try to pull it out and i even unlocked the little attachment clip. i'm so close to giving up on trying to fix this, my board just won't accept 2x2g sticks for some reason!
