nVidias next card - ideas?

Ok so we've already had a joke about this in the other topic but lets get serious.

ATI aren't challenging the high market with nVidia so it looks like we need nVidia to being out a card to max Crysis. Will it happen? Unlikely with the current market and nVidias plans to release a card slightly better than the previous as shown below >

8800GTX < 8800 Ultra < 9800Gx2 < GTX280

So what do you think will be next?

GTX290?
GTX300?
GTX280x2?

Or maybe they will concentrate on beating ATI in the mid market with a GT version of GTX such as GTX240
 
i doubt we'll be seeing a gx2 280. it would be such a power hog, far worse than anything out there. not to mention the price would be $900+ no one would buy it.

a more mid range gtx card would be nice but the lower prices of the 9800gtx would suggest thats nvidias mid range card for now.
 
I think it'll be something like a 1080GTS.

I mean, We've gone 6 Series, 7 Series, 8 Series, 9 Series (Meh! :cool:) and then the GTX280. I think there'll be a 10 Series.
 
i do not think ATI are 2 badly in the high end market with your GTX 280 kill the 4870 or u can even get 2 of them for even cheaper then a GTX280 and it rules it in performance
or wait for the 4870x2 that will be faster then 2 4870's

why do u want Nvidias next new card? you know it will cost more then the GTX 280? so wait for the gtx 280 to really plummet in price then you can start to think about new cards when new games come out

unless you sitting on a pile of cash then go ahead buy everything lol pay Nvidia to make the new card



unless you want a new mid range card then go ahead please disregard this post and carry on spending all you cash :D then dance on it
