"upgradeing" integrated graphics?

:confused:I heard that there was a way to upgrade a pc with integrated graphics, but i have never done this before. A friend of mine in the same situation said that it was as easy as just installing it just like any other video card, but other people have told me that I'd have to uninstall the integrated graphics and "switch" the cards in bios (or something like that:confused:).

No don't worry. Most HP computers nowadays can just slot in the Video card, install the driver and restart. Then you'll be good to go.



Side note, HP usually provides a 350W power supply. It's barely anything but can run a 8500GT. Anything above that would require a new PSU.

An 8600GT or GTS could run on the HP PSU without issue.

The GTS would require the external 6 pin PCI-E power adapter from the Power Supply. The PSU that comes with the computer will probably be a cheap mofo and not have one. Unless of course, the video card itself provided the alternate adapter that requires 2 extra 4 pins to connect to it.



PS. An 8800GT recommends a 400W PSU. Standard HP's are usually 350W.
