What is The Danger of Not Turning Your COmputer Off

Dust building up inside the case faster if you not clean it. Causing overheat and burn your house if you not using quality PSU.
Demage to the environment and your electric bill.

My favorite analogy to running PC's all day every day.

You wouldn't buy a $200,000 Ferrari and leave it running even when it's in your garage not in use, would you? It stresses the parts, simply put.

I always turn mine off when I am done using it. Some say booting up it the most stress on parts. But I beg to differ. It's best to let them rest when they're not needed...like the solders of the army.

Wait a second...when are we ever NOT using an army...hmmm...I retract my last statement, but the point still stands. :P

Relating a car to a computer is completely stupid!! Computers can take the stress. It's what they are built for.

Higher electric bills
Viruses and hackers can gain access
Shorter component life
Risk of fire (not necessarily the PC itself, but if you use a CRT; I've seen PSUs catch fire though)
If you leave or fall asleep and a lightning storm happens, a surge can leak through your home and kill your computer

lol about the car post, most cars can take idleing,so unless your computer is running prime95 24/7(or a car revving at 9k 24/7) you should be fine.
