Can anyone determine what the temp reading of 80c by speedfan for temp3 is referring to. I can't determine what it comes from or what its referencing and it's instantly there after starting. Don't know if its relavent or not.

My gpu, hdd1, cpu, mb, and hdd2 are all ok as far as the temps go its just that 80c at temp 3 that showed up on speedfan and also shows up under HWMonitor at Temperatures, TMPIN2. My computer has been crashing a lot lately and think that temp may have something to do with it or is false reading.
Also forgot to mention that it shows up on SiSandra as auxilliary temperature reading. Anyone with any idea as to what it may be refering to, thanks.

80 is high but not unheard of for the 8600gt, id be surprised to hear of shutdowns although if its at stock setttings that is very warm mine runs at 60-65.

That's not the gpu at 80, I don't know wht it is, called temp 3 by speedfan and auziliary temp in SiSandra. My 8600 runs around 46c most of the time. Now Cohen what programs are u asking about, the ones I use to check the temps or all programs on my puter, thanks.

Also can anyone help with a hijact this file if posted here; maybe it has something that is causing these strange reboots.

My gpu is running at 46c using gpu-z, hwmonitor, sisandra, and 3 more programs I'm using. All critical components, cpu, mb, gpu, and hdds are running between 32 and 46c but don't know what the 80c item is. It shows up as auxiliary temp on sisandra, temp3 on speedfan, and tmpin2 on hwmonitor. Still scratching my head and computer still crashing every 5/6 hrs.

After considerable time it is now concluded the 80c is my psu and that the 5v maybe providing the wrong info which in turn is cauing the computer to think that it is running at 80c and then it shuts down after a few hours; thats according to the ultra people so they are going to send a replacement for it. We'll see if that fixes the problem.

using pc wizard it shows up as power/aux temp; so my conclusion power means psu and the folks at ultra agreed, so I guess some are smart

Its the P/S temp. If it cant read it, it gives off wild readings. I would not worry about it. I,ve saw some that read like 256c. Like you said its the same reading as PC wizards power/aux temp.

So u say my shut downs are probably something else then. Usually about 6hr running and then it reboots to improper shutdown screen and I have to use start using last known good config. Sometimes it will start and sometimes not but if I shut it down for say 10mins then it will boot back up. I have tried about everything I know and removed every bug I can find using multile scanners but just when I think its ok, bam down it goes, really frustrating.

My 8600gt zalman runs at about 40-44

my 8800 does about the same, but its got a much bigger stock cooler
