I have Mcafee on my computer, and I keep having these messages popup saying that my firewall or systemguard is down. I ran some scans and got nothing.

Hello,

Download and Run ComboFix
If you already have Combofix, please delete this copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

In your reply:
  • Post the combo fix log
  • Post a Fresh Hijackthis log

Thankyou

way to steal someone elses thread and try to post it and act like you are helping... That comes from the creator of combofix and its clear with teh line of If that happened we want to know and also what process you had to end sheesh... just so you know bumble foot people have boycotted coehn so he will be the only one helping you more then likely so if you need anything just pm us..

I getted the threads started and then the pros come in.

There a lot going on in this hijack this log... Combofix might not fix them all but whatever man honestly you have upset a lot of members in this forum recently man especially with your signature that really upsets people its like bragging... and i'm here to help if he wants it i have been through a lot of spyware stuff ...

Not meaning to hijack the thread.

Well i get the thread started with the combo fix and then maybe the online scan.

Ad for my sig, i'm just getting the point across, that i do help! It will eventually go.

First of all, ComboFix shouldn't really be run in every thread-it depends on the problem. If the HijackThis log is fully clean why would you run ComboFix?
If you find a traces of some easy infection or infection that will not go with ComboFix, what's the point in running ComboFix?

But I can say you don't even look at the HijackThis logs, you just suggest ComboFix immediately. In this case, I'd like to see the ComboFix log, but in such threads where ceewi1, Punk or I don't answer, it means you blew it all up.

Thank you gamemaster for finally shooting coehn down!!! Its about time i thought iwas the only one that thought combofix first was stupid and a waste of time... I dont think he has any formal training and just copy and pastes other's responses from other threads and tries to look like he knows what he is doing.... Lets help this one even though coehn screwed it up what do you say?
