Program for adding avi's together?

Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone knows of a program that can join two .avi files together? The reason being is my friend is making a movie for his university course, but his computer's hard drive is in FAT32 format, and his movie is about 5.8 gb, meaning it's in two files. He wants to me to tie it together for him and fix up any transitions while he reinstalls his comp as he is getting two new hard drives. So yeah, not using it for anything illegal.

I mean cause all video editing programs will do this.

We've finished editing it. he wants to put it together so he doesn't lose his editing, but if he puts it all together we will be able to make any other changes, since there is a big scene change such as the files split.

Hmm, never thought of that. I'll have to give it a try.
