For those of you that have been answering my past threads, thank you for all your help and advice. I Narrowed it down to 3 cards.

8800GT Pros:
Single Slot, $100 cheaper, only one 6-pin power plug.

9800GTX Pros:
Better performance

Is the price worth the extra performance in the 9800GTX? And if anyone was wondering why single slot is a pro. Here is my dilemma.

The seconds picture shows the same computer with stock hardware but with a good camera angle. I've upgraded quite a bit.

Yes that is a crappy stock case haha. So if I were to get the 9800GTX I would have to remove the fan and it would be cramped.

got the one of the 9***.... they are a good one, but you would be better to go for a Radeon 4870 or 4850...

What is your budget on a card????

And who ever designed that motherboard, was a really idiot! Why would you put plugs where you need to PCI cards!

I have no freaking idea, haha but it's frustrating. But because of this a single slot card is really a pro.

My budget? Well I guess it depends on the performance. Really, my budget it right at the 8800GT. But if someone were to tell me the 8800GT will only last another 6 months and that the 9800GTX would last me 2 years, I would buy the 9800GTX y'know? I think those GTX's are peaking my max budget though. So realistically, I'm just waiting for someone to tell me that AMP! Edition card will last me like 2 years, haha. But if not, I want to know how much more I have to pay to get a certain amount more of performance. That GT is basically an 8800GTX, it passed up all of the 8800GTS's in benchmarks haha.

Do you suspect the 9800GTX+'s will bring the prices down? Right now there's only one on NewEgg for $200. Right now most of the 9800GTX's are now dropped with MIR's. Thinking they might drop lower than $200?

I love my 8800GT myself ran crysis on medium settings with AA @ x16 28-30FPS.

Though its slowly starting to shows its age its a better idea to get the 9*** card its more expensive now but it will last longer saving you money :)

I think it is safe to say I am either getting the 9800GTX or the 9800GTX+. I will probably wait for 3 or so weeks for the prices to drop. This is probably the best GPU I can get with my PSU. Anyone wanna take a guess at how long this will last? Haha

Yeah, well someone is telling me that the 4850 is very good, almost better than the 9800GTX. I looked at the reviews on the 4870 as was really impressed, only to find that my PSU isn't good enough. But what about a 4850? Better to stick with 9800?

Well if the 4850 is better than the Zotac 8800GT AMP! Edition, then it'll be between the 4850 and the 9800GTX/GTX+. Hopefully The AMP pulls through because the 4850 hits some pretty high temps. 8800GT drivers are apparently more stable, and the cooler is a lot . . . well, cooler. Haha. I would prefer the Zotac, unless the 4850 is ridiculously faster. And I don't think there will be a game like Crysis for a while. =P So if it can run Crysis okay I think I'm set for the future.

Aaaaannnddd NVidia just released the 9800GT. Wow gotta love how long video cards last haha. Well it is about $30 more than the 8800GT I am currently looking at. Would the only pro be the PhysX? I hear it basically has the same performance as the 8800GT.

Yeah that's it, but is it any better than the 8800? All of the reviews clock it like 2 fps higher than the 8800GT. The only pro that I can see is the PhysX.

The 8800GT is a good card, but the 9800 would be better and will last you two years.

You guys do know that the 9 Series are just slightly OC'ed 8 Series cards. Buy an 8 Series, save yourself some money and OC it yourself. My 8800GTS is better than a 9800GTX, Since I've OC'ed it!

er... I'm pretty sure the driver for PhysX was compatible for the 8800GT.

Yup, Sure are.
