Ok, so i have two 512 mb Corsair xms platinum series working dual channel in my motherboard. I realize that i need more ram now, but i'm not too sure what to get that will work with the setup i have right now. Help appreciated!

Are you sure you have XMS? It's not XMS2 or XMS3? If you know what motherboard you have post the model number and we can find some RAM that will work.

yes, i am sure that i have just an XMS, not an XMS2 or XMS3. The motherboard model is K8 Triton series nforce4sli series gigabyte technology.

OK then any PC3200 will work. Your XMS is probably CAS2 but that should be easy enough to find if you want to match it and don't want more XMS

i downloaded CPUZ and found out that my ram are as follows:

Type: DDR
Size: 1024 MBytes
Channels #: Dual

Timings

Dram Frequency: 201.0 MHz
FSB:DRAM: CPU/10
CAS# Latency (CL): 3.0 clocks
RAS# to CAS# Delay (tRCD): 3 clocks
RAS# Precharge (tRP): 3 clocks
Cycle Time (tRAS): 8 clocks
Bank Cycle Time (tRC): 12 clocks
Command Rate (CR): 2T
DRAM Idle Timer: 16 clocks

If it is not good or isn't compatible with other rams, I'll just go ahead and ditch it and buy some new ones if i have to

Also, the model number for my motherboard is GA-K8N Pro-Sli

i don't know how much ram you want, but i suggest two more 512mb sticks for dual channel. (2x 512mb)
any DDR400 ram will work, try to get the same type as you did, or some with a CL of 3..

This is all newegg has in stock for 512mb sticks right now. i'm assuming you live in the US. if not i'm sure whatever dealer you have in your country will have similar prices/components.

It's compatible with any other PC3200 (DDR400) RAM. It looks like the timings are set by SPD and are not at the tested settings but it wouldn't make a big difference if they were (<10% difference). 3-3-3-8 PC3200 isn't anything special and if you find the speed of the RAM is OK (and it should be) then you don't need to buy more expensive RAM. Value RAM will work just fine at those settings.
