Computer Problem.

I recently got my computer back from a repair shop.Everything that was on it is gone, so I was trying to start to install everything again.When I put the Cd for my antivirus in it wouldnt load or show in my computer either, same result with every cd I tryed.I wanted to know is there something, I need to program first or is it a computer problem ? Thanks in advance.

It may be a problem with the optical drive or it could possible not recognise the CD drive anymore.

Is the CD-ROM itself showing up in my computer or in device manager?

Maybe it has the power lead plugged in but not the IDE/SATA cable!

No it doesnt show up.

Like sq1 said, it could be they forgot to plug in the IDE cable since it not showing up in My Computer or Device Manager. But thats kinda odd since it sounds like they reloaded the OS because of all your programs were gone. If all else fails call the repair shop and tell them your CD-Rom isnt working and it was when you gave it to them.

It could have come loose in transit back from the repair shop, but i'm just glad we could help you get it working again
