Can my PSU handle HD4870 ?

Thank you

I have some other questions

Is HD4870 larger than my 8800GTS 320MB ? I want to make sure that it fits my case.

Do I need to get an extra cooler to keep the heat level down for HD4870 ? I'm asking this because I heard that HD4870 produce a lot of heat. (Note: I not planning to overclock)

Hmmmm does that have a single or a double 12V rail? My PSU apparently won't run it and it has 32A on the 12V rail. I think the 4870 needs 36A total to run stable, of course it doesn't consume 36A, but just to be sure I would get a better power supply. Your PSU will probably run it but it's better to be safe than sorry. Especially with that kind of a system lol.

Ok, will an HD4870 fit in my case ?

Here is pic for my case

^ I'd say it will fit. In any case, you still have room far into the HDD cage don't you? Or does it not fit?

Yeah I would definitely look at a new PSU. And that should fit in your case. If it were too long, would it be able to extend into the drive bays? I can find you a new PSU if you want, what is your budget?

Also maroon, make sure your PSU has 2 x 6pin connectors or in that case, at least 2 molex (most cards come with 6pin>molex adaptors)

Oh okay. Well I was considering the 4850 so I was looking on NewEgg. I noticed the pictures that show the contents of the box didn't show any 6-pin adapters. I might have skipped over the Sapphire though =P And this isn't really a con. 6-pin adapters are cheap. It's just another thing you have to buy separately and the card won't run without 2 6-pins in.

Yea I have room in the HDD cage, but I afraid that the HD4870 will cut this white cable

Do you how many cm (or inches) is the HD4870 taller than my 8800GTS 320MB ?

What about HD4850 ? Is HD4850 shorter than HD4870 ?

Yes the 6-pin connects to the video card aaaaanndd I just remembered it only needs one 6-pin. Haha the 4870 is the one that needs two of them. The 8800GTS is a big card so I doubt the 4850 would be considerably longer. And you could probably get a longer IDE cable, the white one.
