Oc'ing video card

I'm thinking about starting to oc my video card. I've never done such a thing so i'd like some advice on what to use/do.

See my sig for my rig and pics. As you can see i've got a passively cooled video card. But i do have a fan blowing through the fins. Under load it gets about 65c and it idles at 56c. I've red reviews where it exceeds 100c and still works stable but i'm not willing to let it go above 90c.

Now for the question part. What do i use and what are my options? I know some things you can overclock them software based so the oc'ing you do is loaded when the program loads. Or you can do it based on the bios of the card and write all the changes directly onto the cards chip. I'm kind of not wanting to do the last method because i don't feel like going through the trouble of having to flash or reset my video cards bios or something. So preferably i would want something that will safely overclock my card from within my operating system. Which btw is Windows Vista Ultimate x64.

Are there any things i've missed here?

Let me know about anything that might be interesting.

i've heard about that one yea. Anyone have any experience with it?

I have, it works great it even allows you to save configurations, so you can easily overclock the card when needed, than put it back to default when done. It let's you change the fan speed as well which is great. :D

Ok-I got another question about OC'ing video cards-I have the card in my sig- I have a program that lets me overclock the Engine, Shader, and Memory clocks-they are at-Engine-600, Shader -1700, and Memory-1800-How far do you adjust the shader clock compared to the other two?-Right now it idles at 43-44c.
