Changing Out Hard Drive In Laptop

I am wanting to change out my hard drive and was wanting to transfer all of my information over... Is there software that does this for me or is it copy and paste?
 
Do you have another computer????
Do you have a network???
Do you have an external hard drive???

because if you had another computer you could use your network or a cross-over cable to transfer the data.

If you had an external hard drive, you could put all the data onto their.

Now you do realize that putting a new hard drive in, you have to reinstall windows?
 
I do have another computer, but no network setup. I also do have an external harddrive as well...

reinstalling windows was the thing that i was really wanting to get around...
 
Hi, as said by you, you just need to copy paste all the files onto the external hard drive.
Or alternatively, you can backup your files by burning them onto a disc.
 
If i understand you are trying to put your os and everything onto the new hdd the way it was? You could get a 2.5in Hdd->USB Connector, Hook up the new hdd to it, and then use norton ghost to put an image of your hdd onto the new hard drive.
