How much ram does window support?

I thought windows only supported 4 gigs of memory but that does that include your video card memory? how much does 64 bit vista support?

32 Bit OS so far can RECOGNIZE 4GB of RAM but it only uses around 3.5 GB of ram.


64 Bit OS can theoretically be almost unlimited. (math calculations)

I disagree with you.
The maximum RAM size on 64-bit machines is 16.8 million terabytes (or 16 exabytes).
It can't be achieved yet, but maybe in 20 years it will not be enough.
Remember the 16k RAM machines from the '70s to '80s? Who thought that it may become 4 GB (4 GB= (aprox.) 4 000 000 kb) in about 2008?

oh well, it is still almost unlimited, so it's not a BIG deal.

maybe in 20 years it will be an annoying limit, same as 32-bit now .
But as alex said then will probably appear 256-bit machines
