I'm trying to refill an HP 22 tricolor cartrige. removed the label covering the top but found five holes for three colors of ink. Does anyone know which color goes where? succcessful refills?

You peel off the label and put new cartridge into your printer.
Toss out the old one!

lol that's not what he means... he's asking, which holes of the cartridge (single cart, multi-color) are for which colors... I would just look the cartridge up on the internet and see how the colors are arranged, it can't be that hard. Could be as easy as doing a google image search and having a look at the sticker on the cartr. as soon as you find the right picture.

Also you should have some instructions that came with it. On the lighter side be careful. You better not overfill or you can reck a printer. (trash). use newspaper and latex gloves. Ive done in the past but not no more. Lots of stores like Walgreen and office supplies do it or exchange. To much hassel.

Stick a tooth pick or similar into the hole to see what color it is, easy and simple.
Agree completely - spend the extra couple bucks and do without the hassle. My exerience has always been that refeill are messy,and last a fraction of the time the original cartridge did. Why do you think all those little mall kiosks that offer the service are disappearing..... b.c it sucks!
