Will anything above the recommended settings play the game maxed at 1680x1050?

Thanks.

You should be fine with that setup. Just looking at the requirements, Far Cry 2 looks like it might be a bit more graphically intensive than Crysis. My computer at 2.6GHz and ONE 8800GT can run Crysis. A 2.9GHz with 2 8800GT's should be fine. =P

Well you probably won't be able to max it out at 1680 x 1050, maybe medium or high.

This is just great though, my system is barely above recommended hardware. Gives me an excuse to build a new system :D

I doubt you'll be able to max it out, but with that CPU and those cards. You'll probably get close, maybe mostly high.

I thought they were trying to make it not demanding...idk

same was said about the sequel to Crysis (where you play psycho) latest rumors on dutch sites have been that the game is going to be more demanding than the original crysis.
I wonder how this wil turn out.

Yeah, I may do that, but do you think a demo will be coming out?

And if I can't play the game on decent settings, I'll end up getting it for the 360.

True, it's just I spent most of my money upgrading my computer to play games. Crysis is showing me it's not enough haha. Maybe once I get out of college I'll have the money to appreciate technology.

far cry 2 uses a differant engine than crysis that is supposed to look as good but not be as demanding. I realy hope the games is all its supposed to be cause it sounds great and I already have a copy on pre-order

Poor sales and them blaming pirating when 80% of us can't play it.

Though really I would chill out till the game actually hits the shelf or a demo is released.
I was able to run Crysis on Very High with 20 FPS on a 1024x768 with my modest gaming rig. Running a X2 4400+ at the time.
