sorry for asking such a noob and idiot questions here.
wat will happen if i crossfire my ATI with a Nvidia GPU? will it works properly or crash or even fail?
if i crossfire my 4850 with a 3870, what will happen?

you cant crossfire a ati with nvidia!!

as for the 4850 with a 3870!! why would you want to do that? assuming it does work you will only be able to run at the lower cards speed!

oh i see, so it has to be same model of GPU if not either one is not going to perform well. i just curious about it on what going to happen once i cross like that. thank you for ur reply:)

you want to use same series of card

3800 + 3800

4800 + 4800

ati + ati (crossfire)

nvidia + nvidia (sli)

Doesn't Hybrid Crossfire allow you to mix 4-series cards with older generations?
im sorry, i cant get what are you trying to say. mind explain it?

another question here, what is HD 4850 x2 stand for?
if i crossfire mine with another 4850 x2 then what is going to be the outcome?

I *think* there was something called Hybrid Crossfire that allows you to crossfire older cards (2 snd 3-series ones, I think?) cards with the new 4-series ones, but with which cards can you do it and how it performs I don't know...

ok, thank you so much for it. i think when i want to crossfire my GPU then i should be getting the same model because all these seem complicated to me.

yea, because then 1 of the cards just would run as fast as it could. so there is no point actually in using different cards (imo)
