Which CPU to get

Ok, so I'm finally going to make the jump to dual core and have been eying the amd 6000+ for a while.

I was going to get it but then I saw that amd also has the 5400+ which is cheaper and 65nm, which is a good thing. But compared to the 6000+ it has half the cache.

My question is, should I get the 6000+ or the 5400+

And if anyone asks, yes I know Intel is better, but i'm stuck with this computer for at least a year...

i have a 6000+ x2. Been running fine for almost a year now. I plan to keep for another year or so...i should be fine. Alot of people (including me) have had heat problems with it. It idles around 40 -45 and the temps are usually between 40-52. It is a hot processor, not doubt, but i love it.

You might want to check and make sure that your motherboard can support the 125w 6000+ processor-if you are into overclocking-I'm sure that the 5400+ black edition would work for you -I have had my 5000+ black edition up to 3.2 ghz stable-running it at 2.8 for now though

I would go with the 6000+ also, since its a great/cheap CPU. Also, the 5400+ BE is good if you want to overclock... ALstly, make sure htat you get an aftermarket heatsink. I'm looking for one right now, as I don;t like seeing high temps but I still over the CPU.
