Basically, 9800GT is not that great at all. It's not bad, but there's way better cards out there, both in terms of absolute performance and price/performance ratio. It definitely
will struggle with Crysis maxed out. As someone said, it's basically a 8800GT with a few minor improvements, and you can get 8800GTs a lot cheaper than 9800GTs. If you want a card that can handle Crysis get a Radeon 4850/4870 or NVIDIA 9800GTX+ or 9800GX2 at least (I would recommend the Radeons, as they handle AA really well). For more budget-minded gaming card, I would recommend Nvidia 8800/9600, or Radeon 38xx cards, none of those will be
great with Crysis but they
will run it on, say, medium-high settings fairly good.
You can't really ask if the card is "good", it may be great for one purpose and totally crap for another. What games are you planning to run, what is your budget, do you have a brand preference or do you want just the best you can get for the money? What type of PSU do you have, and how are the expansion capabilities of your case/mobo?
