Network Connection Folder Is Empty

I've been trying to google a solution for my problem, but I haven't gotten anything to work.

So my Network Connection folder is empty. I still have internet connection, but it isn't displaying any connections.
Anyone know a solution for this? (I'm running Windows XP.)

I've also noticed that my computer is no longer connected to my home network.

I had this, and did not have the option to add a new connection. Turned out I did not put in my area code when setting up the computer. You can add that in the Control panels.
Also could be your NIC is not setup properly.

Can you be more specific about the area code thing?
And by NIC do you mean network card? Because my computer is wired to a router.
