Need some help with an interesting project

Well, here is the download link: http://rapidshare.com/files/145183171/CTA_8_OS.rar.html

It is under construction right now and i need some help.

What exactly is this project:
I'm trying to create a 'simulation' of an operating system using just powerpoint and design tools.

What kind of help I need:
* Logos. I need logos for all items in the menus, user files and so on. If there is anyone here who can provide me with logos i would be happy :D
* Ideas on how to make it better, or adding features. It is still under constructions and it's going to be pretty cool i think. The 7th version (this is version 8) had some cool features, but many missing logos, and that kind of stuff.
* What folders should i make in these 'drives' i put in the computer (the link is broken if you try to open it in slide show mode... forgot to fix that before uploading to rapidshare :D, it is on slide #11)

What features I thought about:
* a simple text editor using controls
* a media player
* a document viewer for viewing office and pdf files

Other notes:
* the file is compressed in .rar format, just extract wherever you want
* opening the file is made with the file 'main.pptx' under the 'system' folder
* you need Microsoft PowerPoint 2007, not working under office.org, or older versions of Ms. PowerPoint.
* after opening press F5 to view it as a slideshow
* the Applications menu is not created yet, so nothing will be displayed if you click it.
* the archive does not contain any .exe files, just a presentation and a couple of images

So waiting for your suggestions and opinions :D

Sounds cool, but I cant open it with openoffice :(
I used Microsoft PowerPoint 2007's cool design tools that are not recognized by open office. I know because i tried it. You can download PowerPoint Viewer which is free, but only lets you to view the slide show, not edit or anything like that.

Cool UI. Reminds me of Windows 3.1 somehow. Yea, there's a lot of work to do, but I'm sure it will be OK.

So this means that you saw it.

For who can't see it, here is an image of the UI (the main screen)

Third built available. Few bugs/broken links fixed, more features added.

On the 15th slide there is a preview of the text editor (Shift+F5 to view slide show starting with the selected page).
Note: the text editor is not linked yet because it is under construction, so you won't see it under any menu.

And can anyone provide me with logos/icons? I really need those, see how the explorer looks? Ugly.
Waiting for opinions, ideas and... logos/icons.

I would do some icons, but school started today and I have no time. Maybe the next weekend, when I'll be hopefully free?

Same here, so I won't be able to progress too fast with this. But i'm patient. The previous version was built in about an year, and working few hours/month. I got bored with that one, and started a new one before finishing the icons, player and some features, but it's almost done. Hope that this one will finish in a shorter amount of time 'cause if it takes more than an year, i'll get bored of it too :D

Okay now i remembered that the local disk C: is empty!!! what should i put in there? I really have no idea.

In previous versions i only put a folder with the "system files" of the "operating system" but that's not enough.

Put like 4 Folders.

System Files

*name of the operating system*

Porn Collection

and

Documents.

Or something.

Pretty awesome project.

someone torrents with vuze

Man, think about something I can do in PowerPoint. I can't put there torrents, how is it going to open them? I really don't want it to access external applications that windows uses. And I can't create a BitTorrent-like application in PowerPoint. Think about something I can do.

He wasnt refering to that.

Anyway, haha you should have mspaint... but predrawn.
So when you open paint you can click on one of the "predrawn" buttons. Haha.
That way they can feel like they are really using paint :D
When you click button 1, a picture of a *insert stupid idea here* comes up.
That is unless you can actually make it so when they want to draw it shows up... :D

Mspaint? No way, i can't put that in powerpoint. I need some controls for that and visual basic knowledge, but i'm parallel with basic. I know some C++, but not visual.

haha no i mean like just a basic drawing.
Like set up some rectangles and squares and so on so it resembles the interface of paint. Then make like 10 buttons that when you press one, a picture is displayed.
I call it "Paint: Predrawn Edition"
:D
