Xbox 360 DVD Drive

My Xbox 360 DVD drive doesn't seem to be working very well anymore, I believe I have the Hitachi one.


So, where would the best place be to order one? An eBay store?



And does it matter which brand I get?

Is the drive key on the DVD drive? And what's it for?

the drive key is a unique assigned to that 360 and dvd drive, if u just plug in another dvd drive it wont work, u have to use certain tools to dump the drive key and put it on the new dvd drive

yes 360mods.net has everything, and u dont have to get the same drive, but u will still have to retrieve the old drive key and inject it in the new one, i can give u the owners aim for 360mods.net and u can im him if u have aim or u can join his irc channel on the site

I have AIM, that'd be great, cause I'm kind of confused about how I would inject the new key.


Should I just get another Hitachi drive, or will I run into the same problem, with the new drive and key?
