Urgent help needed with internet!!!

OK. i bought a new computer. its 3ghz 3gb ram, 500gb hdd, so on. i put windows on and used internet for days without problems. then it would take 10minutes+ to connect up. then it wouldnt connect up at all. i have a Dlink-DLSG604T modem/router. i am using a wireless card: netgear WG311v2. i have also tried using a Dlink wireless card. i have used these cards in the old computer and worked fine. its not the computer because it used to work. its wierd but it seems when i connect the other computer up this one works. i really need it to work as i have things to do on it.

i have tried google searching like hell with no success.

any help is much apriciated.

what operating system are you running, have you tried doing a system restore to a time when you know it worked. Perhaps a setting got changed somewhere that caused it to quit working.

You didn't say anything about drivers. When you put windows on, did you install the drivers for the card?? and when you tried the D Link one, did you install the drivers for that??

i am running xp pro sp3. i didnt because for one its a new computer and i dont wanna stuff it even more but most importantly it sometimes works and sometimes does not. eg. now i got it to work, for how long i dunno.

yes i did put the latest drivers and also tried the ones that came with the card. i also put the drivers on for the dlink. like i said sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.
