Date / time Issue

Hey Guys,

I'm using windows XP SP3 and it must have synced with the windows server and changed the time, so now it is 2 hours behind for me, so now it is 4:08PM.

Now i want to change it back, but it won't let me.

it says "You don't privliages to change this" or something like that.

and i really want to change it back!

How can i, i have tried going through control panel, but still no luck!

Do you have more than one user account on your Windows XP account? Are you on an administrator account or a regular user account?
That is the only think I can think of :P. Tell me, if thats not the case I will try to find out for you.

Sorry, it is a school computer :P, it is a school laptop (my laptop) details in sig.

Yes i do have admin rights, i can do anything else, but this!

I tired it, but it didn't end up working..... any one else got any other suggestions.
 
you need to be a full admin to change the time. Ensure that you are in the right time zone.

Speak to the IT department / use safe mode if you are allowed.

secondly, if you are on a domain and your time is different to the one on the Domain Controller, then you will have issues.

hhmm... i have full access.

And IT will take it away from me, they don't know i have it :P ;)

Yeah, it might synced with the internet or the domain, no sure.

even if you are an admin, you dont nececerially have the right to change the time, its under user rights in the Group Security policy, which may either be set locally or by the domain.
