New upgrades...what do you think?

So the new upgrades are on their way, but I wanted to get some thoughts on if I made the right decisions. They are currently in my sig too but I'll still list them.

GPU: ASUS EN9800GT ULTIMATE: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&cm_mmc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_-

PSU: PC Power & Cooling S75QB 750W: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&cm_mmc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_-

More ram OCZ SLI-Ready 2GB (2 x 1GB): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&cm_mmc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_-

The reason I picked the PSU is because with the deal of the day discount packaged with yet another discount on top of that, it came out to $107. The GPU is basically a 9800GTX but for $50 less. The ram is the current ram I have in my build so I figured I would just get the same amount. I'm wanting to play Crysis on it at full throttle. What do you all think? Thanks!

Not a bad choice there, and as far as I can see, you shouldn't have any bottlenecks in your system. One thing though, your sig says your getting an 8800GTS, not a 9800GT Ultimate. Dunno about running Crysis on full throttle, but the graphics should be easily playable at 1680 x 1050 on high. Probably higher, but Crysis benchmarks are all over the place. You have to tune your system to the requirements of the game, so to speak.

Yea I haven't logged into this place in over a year and forgot to change all of that lol. :D

It's all updated now and ready to go!

Hope you enjoy your newfound gaming potential then. Crysis Warhead is out now, so I've just ordered that too. Same engine, same story, different missions. Like a giant addon pack that they branded into a new game to make more money.

Thanks!!! Yea I'm really stoked about it! I've tried to explain to my gf why all of it is a good thing and she just rolls her eyes lol. I haven't been able to play a high end game in who knows how long. I can't wait for all my stuff to finally get here so I can game! :)

Eye rolling is supposedly common, but I don't have to deal with that. Awesome. :D Hope you enjoy it, might see you out there online in MP.

Haha yea the eye rolling comes with the rest of the package I guess you could say lol ;)

Yea I can't wait to finally play Crysis after such a long time. Ever since it came out, I just wanted to upgrade my rig so it would run it, but being the poor college student that I am, I haven't had the time or money to do it. I'm looking forward to StarCraft 2 and Diablo III as well when they come out because I'll be able to run them too lol!

See out on the battlefield I guess! Thanks for your help and insight by the way. It's much appreciated! :)

Installing graphics card on a VERY small computer

i have this computer that is very tiny. so small that most graphics card will not fit in it.

it does however have a One PCI Express® x1, One PCI Express® x16 on the motherboard

does that mean that if i really wanted to, i could just keep the cover off and install most graphic cards out in the market?

I think it depends on which GPU you're asking about. The one I have is 9 inches long while the standard is usually 10 inches long. Depending on your case, it may not be the height or width of the card, but rather the length. What kind of case do you have?

Do you have one of those slimline computers like this?

Not necessarily the same one, but something like that. If so, they weren't really designed with upgrades in mind. However, if you could be sure nothing were to get in it, like water or something, it would probably be fine to leave the case open.
