um guys, i'm new here, but wouldn't u mind if i ask u some questions?

...we were asked to create a network set - up for a three floor building...

however, three business establishments, ( an internet cafe , a computer shop [w/c sells computer peripherals] and an advertising shop - all owned by a single person) are planned to be in that one building...

the questions are :

> what do you think would be the BEST (in terms of reliability and security) NETWORKING TOPOLOGY applicable for this kind of situation?

> how many servers do we need to set - up to support the whole system?

> some suggested softwares for the businesses said above (just optional - i wouldn't mind if u won't answer this ^_^)

thanx a lot for giving some time reading this questions of mine...

any answers or opinions would be a big help...violent reactions are welcome too ^_^

wired, for all the terminals in the entire buldg. and a wireless router for the cafe
> how many servers do we need to set - up to support the whole system?
obvisouly one for each business, depends on what the planned buisnesses plan to do
> some suggested softwares for the businesses said above (just optional - i wouldn't mind if u won't answer this ^_^)
probably some reliable POS programs for all three businesses

thanx a lot guys...

um mr.cybereclipse, why would you prefer a wireless router for the cafe? I know that wireless connections are one of the great choices today, but it does have it's share of risks, right?

Would star bus topology be a great choice for the network topology?

and, what could be your advantages in using both wireless / wired connection against to those who use only one kind of connection?

pardon me from being too inquisitive, I just got a little...um...wired? hehe ^_^

thanx a lot again!
