It's not really a big deal which you get. They're both going to work well for gaming.
Get a Dual Core if all you do is game.
Get a Quad Core if you game and multi task.
Tri core weirdest thing, just dont seem right. Kinda like the third man out and they dont know what to really do with him.
its like a bi-sexual chip-doesnt know what it wants to be-gay or straight dual or quad.... ah stuff it ill sit in the middle and try be something else
I don't get all the debate about which is better for gaming.I have played games on both and I have seen no difference.

get out, just leave... Go on.
Been away for only 5 days and this is what I see as soon as I come back... quad vs. dual and everyone bashing AMD. Le Sigh a'la Fart...
Tri-Cores:
UNOFFICIALLY:AMD Tri-Core CPUs are an excellent upgrade option, which offers improved multitasking capabilities over dual-core CPUs at a more attractive price point than quad-core CPUs for an average consumer. Tri-Core CPUs handle dual-core optimized games with ease, while the third core can take care of background processes and other tasks that would stall a game if it was run on a dual-core CPU.
OFFICIALLY:This is a scheme we (AMD) improvised to make some cash out of our defective phenoms coz we need it real bad, speaking of which you wouldn't have a dollar to spare, would you?
AMD tri-core FTW!!!Woo00OOOT!!!!!
