Tri core weirdest thing, just dont seem right. Kinda like the third man out and they dont know what to really do with him.

E8400 for gaming
Q6600 (or any quad) for Gaming and general PC use...

Yeah, Omar, we'll keep it updated, Fo Sho. I'm sick of people banging on about it. Tricores, What a waste of space. Go buy a Q6600 then disable a core in the BIOS... Waste of time!
 
Been away for only 5 days and this is what I see as soon as I come back... quad vs. dual and everyone bashing AMD. Le Sigh a'la Fart...

Tri-Cores:
UNOFFICIALLY:AMD Tri-Core CPUs are an excellent upgrade option, which offers improved multitasking capabilities over dual-core CPUs at a more attractive price point than quad-core CPUs for an average consumer. Tri-Core CPUs handle dual-core optimized games with ease, while the third core can take care of background processes and other tasks that would stall a game if it was run on a dual-core CPU.
OFFICIALLY:This is a scheme we (AMD) improvised to make some cash out of our defective phenoms coz we need it real bad, speaking of which you wouldn't have a dollar to spare, would you?

the q6600 should win no matter what, the e8400 has 6mb of cache, and the q6600 has 8mb, so technically the q6600 would be better, but i doubt you would notice that small improvement, and i think im going to get an e8600 after nehalem is released lol, if i don't like it, i'll get either a cheap qx9650 off ebay or a q9650, and if i don't like either one, ill get a nehalem :P
