hi, i am (hoping to be) building a new PC. I found a awesome case, with a 500W PSU. Knowing that alot of the PSU's that come with a case are absolute sh**, i checked the PSU out. It is 500W with 1 +12V rail @ 22.5A. So i guess thats not TOO bad, but will it run a 3870, 2gb ram, 65 W proc, sata HD and DVD drive?

THANKS

You'd be pushing it - ceewi1 posted a thread about recommended PSU's and he reckons for a 3870 you're looking at around 26A. What is the PSU brand, a good one is more likely to cope than some random brand.

raidmax...but it would be shit if i couldn't get the case cuz the PSU ain't good enough. Now my brother ran a 3850 off of a 14A+ 1 12v 450w...not even a brand name, but then this PSU should handle the 3850 if i can't get the 3870, right?

yeah it should work although you would be oversupplying your pc almost but it should work.
I never go with case brand psu because they aren't that good.
