ATI: DX11, 40nm GPUs on track for a 2009 launch

Damn -.- Computers are so hard to keep updated! Every year something new comes out, and something else becomes outdated.

more like every five minutes, first you've got nehalems coming out this year to worry about, then a die shrink down to 32nm the year after that, then nvidia's die shrink whenever that happens, then ati's die shrink, then all the new/renamed cards after that

It's pretty weird, whenever there was a thread about the nehalem's or some crazy intel thing, you would hear (view) people's comments on how whack AMD is. Now they doing something, and there's no 'Intel sucks d**k'.

Nice find Gamer.

Seems like stuff is getting updated at a faster rate as time passes. For example, the 6 series from nvidia lasted like 3 years, then the 7 series was famous for about 2 years now the 8 series only came up 2 years, and 9 series didn't even last 1 year before GTX game out....

Sure my numbers might be wrong, but you get the idea :D

lol. and i thought to myself that i would finally be somewhere near the higher end of the spectrum by upgrading to 4850. when that DX11 thing comes out, what i have now (going to have soon) would probably be studied in history class.
