Spore!!!!

absolutely terrible, the worst game I've every played drm or no drm
I'm disgusted that I paid 50 bucks for it

Certainly not worth the money, but isn't all that bad of a game.

BTW, there's like a million threads about spore >_>

(what does drm mean anyway i think something with downloads)

DRM is digital rights management. An attempt to keep pirates from copying software, but also generally regarded similar to that heap of donkey stuff that DirtyD86 described so well. Here's a link if you are really interested to learn about DRM.

As for the game, if you like it, then that's all that really matters. ;)

IMO Spore is a great and creative creature creator with a shitty game glued onto it.

Cell Stage: great fun, especially if you liked flOw, should have let you stay in this forever and keep evolving but alas...FAIL

Creature Stage: kinda fun but gets repetitive

Tribal Stage: getting worse but still playable if you are bored

Civ Stage: Sucks, there is no reason for this part to suck this bad, if they would have just blatantly ripped off Civ and made it a lil simpler, it would have been better.

Space stage: Civ sucked so bad I never made it past it, I have heard this stage is fun and more interactive but once you go through it once, there is no real reason to do it again.

I would have to say "pwnt" here. Of course there will be naysayers but this is a good point.

Don't get me wrong, ever so often it's fun to play a silly game.. But Spore?

Come on..

I, and I'm sure others share my views, when I say, I didn't pick the game up because of the DRM issue.

I love DRM....I didn't know SPORE used it so after 6 hours of trying to play my legit version of spore freaking 49.99 I had to resort to using a pirates crack to enjoy the game I payed for ....oddly enough the pirates had a working crack for spore BEFORE the game was released.

The first 3 stages of life was fun for me but when you get to space its sucks imo to much to do with to little of time being attacked and disasters etc.

Game has no replay value and I sold to a buddy within a week for 40 bucks.

Agreed. The way some games handle DRM is insane. I had the same experience with GRID. Using my legit DVD was just futile as it kept giving errors and refused to load. I finally had to download the no DVD crack to get it working.

We're treading a mightily fine line with the CD crack-talking guys, lets stay away from it...

As for the game, if you liked any of The Sims games, or SimCity, you will probably like Spore (as I do). But if you didn't, then you probably won't. It's more of an artistic game than most, and as such won't be as appealing as something like Unreal Tournament, Starcraft or something else with clear objectives and direction.

Sorry will try not to mention it in the future!

Spore makes people break rules to play :(

EA needs to be kicked in the balls every time DRM is put on a their games. I wont make the same mistake now though they lost my business after Spore.

Though my neice really LOVES the first stage....she likes to "eats the fishiz" and my little nephew screams like a banshee every time she eats one...her own personal cheerleader I guess lol.

i heard they were only keeping on the drm for the opening months and there will be a patch to take it off is this true.

They are just making a patch the gives you an install back after you uninstall it. DRM is still going to be there.

Anyway, I played it once, beat it, found it to boring to play again, sold it to a friend. I mean you can only do things for so long before they get monotonous.

A friend of mine has it and I played it for about 45 minutes and thought it was retarded! Good thing I tested it before buying it!
