How to set up my fans...

I have a Cooler Master CM690 case and it has room for a crap load of fans...right now I have a 120mm (or maybe 100mm) fan in the front, another 80mm in front, 2 100mm on top, 2 100mm on the left side facing the mobo, 1 80mm on the back of the mobo and one 100mm on the back.

My question is which fans should blow in and which out? Right now the front and left are blowing in while the top, right, and back are blowing out. The only problem is the 2 left side fans blow directly at the fan that's on my cpu heatsink...so whatever heat it's blowing away is getting sent right back at the mobo...what should I do? I was thinking about making the top 2 blow in and the left 2 blow out?

your fans should suck in air from the front which most of the time is at the bottom of the case and air should be forced out the back and out the top. just remember that hot air will rise because it lighter then cold air so you want air to go in at the lowest point and out at the highest point. as for your side fan then keep in blowing into the case.

I have a 120mm [Sucking In] (or maybe 100mm) fan in the front, another 80mm [Sucking In] in front, 2 100mm [Blowing Out] on top, 2 100mm [Sucking In] on the left side facing the mobo, 1 80mm [It's behind the CPU Block, so, Blowing In, onto it. It may reduce your CPU temps] on the back of the mobo and one 100mm [Blowing Out] on the back.

Dude, how sexually suggestive are computers!?

I plan to get a cm 690 also when I finally get ready to do my build. From what I have read since I have been researching (almost obcessive compulsively..lol)most people that have played around with cooling on a 690 get the best results with :

1 fan front (intake)

1 fan bottom (intake) If you have heavy shag carpeting I would maybe place case on a solid surface for this fan to work well

1 fan lower side (intake) if you are using a large HSF it may interfere with a fan at top side so its best to leave open

1 fan rear (exhaust)

2 fans top (exhaust)

You may or may not want to add a slimline 80 mm fan behind MB some people report some positive or no results so it is up to you

That would be 3 intakes and 3 exhaust fans for equal pressure ;As I said I dont have the case yet but just from different sites I have read people get good results with this setup.

Also I think it comes with 120 mm fans, but you can use 140 mm fans because they would fit also

it only comes with 2 fans. One in the front with LED's and one on the back. You have to provide the rest. And I don't have one in the bottom because every fan I tried to put in there would rattle when it was horizontal...
