Ok so I ordered my laptop yesterday from Newegg and I was just thinking, when I get it in I'm going to have to set-up a email address. Now I'd like to use the same one I have but how would I go about switching it over? Cause to be honest I know sometimes for people it asks for a password (outlook express) and I 100% forget my password lol. Also I want to keep all the music I have on my desktop and put it on a external HD and then be able to hook it up to my laptop to listen to, is that possible?

Yes you will have to setup that email address again.See to it that you get your details with your ISP or whatever mail host you're using.
As for the mails you can simply export them, easy stuff
stop forgetting then, passwords should be remembered. Like said above, see with ISP or mail host that you want it reset
Yes. Just cut all of them from your desktop and paste them on your external.
Please note that in some cases (if your drive changes because you plugged another usb device first) you will have playback difficulty with WMP.

I have mine in a locked RAR file on my PC....a txt on my Iriver and I even went so far as to putting a written back up in a safe place.
I know don't forget your password...but most of my logins are 20+ on length hard to remember them all :/
