You won't see two squares because you only have one monitor plugged in at the moment.

Do you have a dedicated video card, or does your motherboard have built in video? You will need to have two video connectors on your graphic card/motherboard.

The dual connectors will look something similar to this:

If you don't have either of those, and don't wanna spend the extra cash on a dedicated graphics card (or you don't have an available PCI-E slot), your other option is to buy one of these, it plugs into any USB port and handles an extra monitor:

This means you have a graphic card with support for one monitor. You either need to upgrade your video card or buy the dongle I showed you.

thanks but can you find one like that or similar from the UK website please because i live in the United Kingdom

thank you

the lower port is not a monitor port

go buy a low-end PCI-express video card with dual outputs. it will come with instructions on how to install it

The longer white slot on your motherboard is where you would put the graphics card. As Cleric7x9 already said, make sure you get one with two monitor ports. Right now you are using the onboard graphics off of your motherboard with only the one port.

YesSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! that means i dont have to buy a new computer ? Thank you! are you sure the longer white port if where i can put the graphics card? i thought computer wont run if you dont have a graphics card please tel mee im so happppy

wait so if i put the graphics card in how are the ports on graphics card gonna go out to the outside for me to plug? if u need any pictures just tell me

Yes, the longer white slot. You are using the onboard graphics built into the motherboard. That is why it is currently working. A graphics card will have the ports sticking out of the back of the computer. Look at this link for an example on installation instructions. http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-3118_7-5023982-1.html
Also, you may need to go into the bios to disable the onboard video and enable the slot for the new card to work. I'm not 100% sure your board will require this though.

how do i meant to know what graphics card would fit it or not? sorry im not good at computers thank though if you botherd can you find me one from the uk website soemthing under £100 but good for dual monitors please
