Computer Companies: Their Customer Service

To whom it may concern,

After what has to be called the worst experience of my life, I have decided to talk about what happened to anyone in the computer world who will listen. Earlier today I spent 2 hours on the phone, was hung up on 9 times, and ultimately got no where with Dell's "superior" customer service. By the end of my experience, not even headquarters in Round Rock (Austin), TX could help me. All I wanted was for Dell to "price match" on a camera they were selling. But the "price matching" wasn't what got to me, it was the lack of customer care! No one knew who I was, what was going on, and I had to repeat my story EVERY time I recalled. I am currently typing from a Dell Dimension 8400 Desktop, and my father and whole family buy from Dell, that is until this past incident. I pronounce I will NEVER buy anything from Dell again. This is my first time blogging or foruming, but I think someone out there should go out and Rank computer companies on how much they suck at customer service! What ever happened to the "customer is always right." Well, I am currently on the market to buy a new computer and slew of electronics from either HP, Sony, IBM, Levono, or anyone else. In these hard economic times, I thought Dell should be so lucky to have a willing customer to call and ask for help to buy one of their products. If anyone has any comments, please post. Perhaps computerforum.com should have a "main topic" on computer companies customer service. And to any Dell reps that are "watching" the internet for their logo, my post name is the same as my email address on your Dell website login. You can email me if you want to right your wrong!!! Any one who read this, thank you and I would like to hear your thoughts.

Get used to it. No body really gives a POS whether or not you get help.

I was reading a PC magazine the other day, and it came across on company's use of support. When buying a dell, it is better to by from their 'business' class PC's to actually get some help.

That's why i quitted buying pre-build computers and dealing with shitty customer service from companies like dell and gateway
