Is it "Bad" / "not practical " To run Pro Tools on a pc? is it the "PC" or the "Windows" part that doesnt make Pro tools a good match for that system.
I noticed in the "post a pic of your pc thread" Theres a guy who has a G5 MacPro and hes running Windows xp as his OS while using pro Tools.

I work IT for a living and used to sub contract to local businesses, a few of them were record labels and recording studios and they all exclusively use Macs. You don't have to worry about viruses and such as much and they are very reliable machines. That is why I recommend a Mac for such things, but you could very well do it on a PC.

I am willing to bet that person who was running windows on their Mac was most likely doing it to run a legacy plug in.

Its not impractical or bad at all. I'm not putting down windows, I'm a pc user likely forever, but its no secret that the majority of professional recording studios as well as semi professionals who run pro tools use macs. This is just a well known fact, not an insult towards pc users.

Personally I record on pc with adobe audition, but would switch to mac if I chose to get pro tools.
