I'm yet to try them myself, don't have the time... Damn Uni work.

While it isn't hitting GeForce owners with da bomb Nvidia is making a bang with the first GeForce 180 series (codename Big Bang II) official beta drivers. Named GeForce 180.42, the drivers are bundled with the PhysX v8.10.13 software, are dated October 17 and have support for the GeForce 8 (only 8800s), 9 and GTX 200 series cards as well as for the GeForce 9300 and 9400 IGPs. This driver is recommended for the "best experience" on Ubisoft's Far Cry 2 and it enables Nvidia SLI technology on SLI-certified Intel X58-based motherboards with the GeForce GTX 280, GeForce GTX 260, GeForce 9800 GX2, GeForce 9800 GTX+ and GeForce 9800 GTX.

Sounds promising though!

yea i've heard about it. Really wanted to see if any improvements come. Although by the time they're whql certified i'll probably have my new mobo and graphics card. Which will be an ati.... so that's to bad.

same here. . . ill be pissed if somehow for some reason it REVOLUTIONISES the nvidia cards. . .

These drivers are great, you can now have more than one monitor, without the need to disable SLI or buy a cheap PCI graphics card...

Cool, thats absolutely a worlds first! :O if it wasnt for Crossfire :P

but seriously, its a nice improvement, but to call it a huge jump, I'd have to see some benchmarks for that tbh. (tough, every improvement is an improvement I suppose ^.^ )

aaaargh i want my new mobo.... been waiting for it for 3 weeks almost now.
i hate it when i have to work 24/7 on my notebook....

Ah, but CF can't have two monitors unless you disable it, much like SLI used to be like :P

They're optimized for Far Cry 2, also.

Far Cry 2 hasn't been released yet, but nevertheless Nvidia released a Beta driver that is supposed to deliver performance boost for the Geforce cards. So the "green ones” do the same as AMD and release a optimized Far Cry 2 driver.

Results
The 180.42 increases the performance of the GTX 260 about 5 percent in DX9 mode and in DX10 mode even 27 to 30 percent - but with Anti-Aliasing only. In DX10 mode the Geforce GTX 280, which is benched for the first time, reaches 84 percent of the performance of a Radeon HD 4870 X2 - without micro stuttering.

What are you getting?

I don't have benches, but I remember the FPS I was getting in Brother in Arms with the older 178.24's (I think that's what they were). I've got these installed now, so I'll post back!

Ok, so with the old 178.234's I was getting around 35-60FPS with Hell's Highway, with X16AF and X8AA. Now, with these new drivers, with X16AF and X8AA I'm getting around 45-70 FPS.

Worth it... I think so!

I love you too, Dustin...

Yeah, they're awesome. Also, multi-monitor support for SLI ;)

Yeah, well worth it! You should stick some AA on there, it looks a LOT better with it!

Nope,.. CF allowed 2 monitors for quite a long time already. ;) (at least, as long as I have had my cards it did )

seeing this,.. I gotta check if there are new ati drivers ^^

edit: Ya, 8.10 is available for download :)

i just installed em,seems it keeps crashing windows explorer for me.
