Computer locking

I have a laptop as shown on my sig.

The thing is that it suddenly locks the computer after idk, 1-2 minutes of inactivity. How do I fix that? It didn't do it before.

Thank you.

*Note* by locking I mean it sorta "switches user" and I'm taken to the User Login screen; thus, I have to enter my password again to log in my account to resume doing what I was doing before.

You posted in the wrong section. This section is for desktops not notebooks.

Anyway, have looked at your screen saver options? It is possible that your screen saver is set to come on in two minutes. I would change that option to at least ten minutes.

I did look at it, it was on "none" but 1 minute as default... even though its disabled, so I changed it to 1000 and it still does it.

Sorry about the posting in wrong section.

I don't have Windows XP so I can't give you a step by step, but there are two different settings for screen savers. One may be set to no screen saver and the other one may be on. Look around the options of your screen savers.

Try this! right click desktop, click properties select screen saver.
check the box that says "on resume, password protect" if that isnt it, under screen saver at the bottom there is monitor power click the power button, check to see how ofter the computer goes into stand-by and change the time if needed then under the advanced tab there is a box that ask to promt for password when computer resumes from stand-by.

Finally if thats not it since your running a laptop there may be a built in program that came with the laptop (like mine Acer e-power management) check that with-in that progarm it will have the same or simular settings as I said above.!
