Hello everybody,
I am new on this forum, so i hope this is the right place to write about my problem.
I have an Gigabyte GA-MA69VM-S2 motherboard, this motherboard have the feature that can boot form any possible device. In my PC i have to, CD/DVD units, LG standard DVD reader and CD-RW, and PLEXTOR DVD-RW model PX - 708A. Of course FDD.
Everything is working perfectly, but when i turn on my computer, or from some reason restart it, when it try to boot from CD/DVD, and there is no bootable CD/DVD inside it reports NTLDR is missing Press CTRL - ALT - DEL to restart.
Now when i put some bootable CD/DVD inside let say Windows Vista Ultimate installation DVD, it display message to boot from DVD, and when pass those 5 seconds you have to press any key to start setup, computer continues to boot from HDD and start Windows. Today i started my PC, with Vista Ultimate Setup DVD inside, and it started Vista Setup, i did not press any key, keyboard is fine, no locked keys if you understand me.
I tried to change boot priority, but if CD ROM is not number one for boot, the computer wont start just display message NTLDR is missing.
However i did not tried changing jumper configuration on my CD/DVD units, but they are cable select both.
I was fighting with this for couple of months, and i lost any ideas. Can anybody help me?
O, yes i have installed Windows XP pro SP3 and Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 on my PC. When i pass the booting sequence with DVD everything is workin perfectly both OS.
Thanks.

Hum, It should not be a problem, but try setting the drive at the end of the cable to master and the middle one to slave. Then set your harddrive to first boot device and see if it boots ok. Some boards chipsets just dont like cable select.

yea it should work stranglehold gave u some advice, also make sure ur boot options are set to hDD first cd second floppy third.

When you say you've got to press any key AFTER the 5 seconds, have you tried pressing it DURING it?

Just a thought.

The i will go Windows Setup, i mean on that waiting, to boot from CD/DVD.
What StrangleHold suggested did not work, i put HDD as a primary boot select in boot options, but then it says
NTLDR is missing
Press CTRL - ALT - DEL to restart
and machine stops working at that message.
