many problems with my hard drives

Hi,
At first, sorry for my english...
I tried to found the solution of my problem on internet but i didn't succeed.
I'll give you all the problems i have :
- sometimes i heard a "clac" in my computer, as if my hard drive stops or something like that. When it happens, i can't do anything, it's freezing... and i have to restart
- sometimes one of my HDD disappear from the computer (in the directories for example)
- when i try a chkdsk, i've many errors, i repair them but they always come back
- the desktop design i have installed has now disappear too. I got an error message when i start the computer. This problem is quite new, but since, it's like if my computer is becoming new again : windows proposes me a visit of xp, i have to accept/decline rights everytime, my browser don't know any favorits
- sometimes, i got a blue screen with an error about memory
- every time i try to burn a cd/dvd, the computer stops again (and the dvd out of order of course :) )

These are almost all the problems i have. I don't anderstand why my computer stops like that. I've got no viruses, my system is up to date...
I think this is a hardware problem but i can't know what to change. Moreover, the components are quite new (2 years maximum)

Thank you very much for your patience.

My components :
- Motherboard : DFI NF4 LanParty
- Graphic : GoForce 6600GT 256
- Processor : AMD Athlon 3000+
- HDD : Maxtor 200go (sata), Western Digital 200go (sata)
- OS : Windows XP Pro SP2

Anyone ?

This is very strange. All my icons disappeared. In the taskbar too... But when i go in C://Documents and Settings/User, i got this :
- a directory with my name where there are all my old icons i had before the problem
- a directory called "TEMP" where i have only one icon, the one of the software i installed
- a directory called "TEMP.USER" where there are the other icons i add recently...

Why do my system put all my icons in these directories ?? Why do my computer remember anything about me (in browser, a the start, the desktop design, the start menu...). All the programms are still installed. This is kinda my computer's memory is dead.
Thank you !

I would say that your Hard Drive is stuffed that clunk noise that you hear you hard Drive making would be the hard drive stalling ie.the discs inside the hard drive have compleatly stoped spinning.

If I was you I would take your hard drive to a computer techo and if they can confirm that it is broken then it is time for a new one.

You have a bad hard drive. I suspect all your data to be corrupt. You need a new hard drive and with a new installation of windows.

Hi,
Thank you for answering. You have probably right, my hard drive is dying. But it's not very old. I'll buy another one and i hope it will resolve my problem. For the moment, i'm going to install new drivers for my motherboard... with the help of god it could work :)
Thank you and we keep in touch if i've got other problems.
Bye

Clicking hard drives are a bad sign, and it doesn't matter how old or new the drive is. It could go bad the same day you get it, its a mechanical device. Installing new drivers won't do a thing for your problem. You need a new drive.

Ok guys,
I just bought a new hard drive : a Hitachi 250Go for less than 50€. In Two days, my computer will be new again :)
Thank you for your explanations !
