Painting my case help

First off it's a dell dimension 2350. The paint I use what spray paint for plastic, primer, and the regular stuff from wal-mart. I already painted the front and the left side. I plan on painting the whole outside. I just had an idea to paint the inside black and drop some led lights in there. Is there a problem with painting it on the inside? Like should I use a certain paint?

I will show pictures when I'm done. It has a theme but it's a surprise to all.:D

If the surface is plastic, just use some Krylon plastic paint. If its metal, use a metal paint, iv never really heard of anyone painting the inside of a dell, but it may look good with a window/led kit.

if you are painting the outside it would pay to degrease and sand down the paint work.

the way i would do it is..

buy a degreasing cleaner-rub down case with cleaner
sand down case
then prime it (undercoat)
then put a few layers of your finnising colour until satisfied
then put a few layers of protector over paint work (lacquer)

just use metal paint, cant go wrong as the case should be metal and the lacquer coat gives it the shine and protective layer

Yes, it will look pretty sweet. Now I would love to find a window for the dell.

just thinking does paint fumes effect the circuty of the comp? if so i would not reccomend pinting the inside other wise the heat inside the case may make the smeel which may efffect ur comp

heat inside the case shouldnt get to that temp unless it is on fire, but there would be a different problem to worry about

while it take a lot of heats to begin sliding of the wall paint does release fumes at a warmish temp the fumes could cause the prob

well ive had mine done for a few months now with no prob!!!

i used car paint, sure if you can paint a car bonnet with it, should be able to handle temps in a pc!!

(hope so)

few people in here have done it

Well, I just took everything outta my case. It's not my main computer. I plan on decking it out and selling it to my little cousin. We both live in northern minnesota. And both of our houses are very cold lol. Where his computer now is RIGHT next to a fan. I know this doesn't really do much but I'm just telling you a little of the area it's going to be in. I plan on primering it. Let it dry for about 5 hours or so. Than doing a black. It's not really a flat black nor shinny. It's in between. Oh also, the 2350 only came with one stupid rear fan. So what I did is got a CPU cooler. (that takes up the ONLY 3 pin) so I had to search around for a molex to 3 pic adapter. I got two. I kept the original fan where it was. Took that stupid plastic thing off. And dropped in a new Antec 3 speed fan in the front. Yes, the front. I put the hard drive in the floppy drive. Tight fit for the screws but I managed.

I might mention this is my very first mod in any form in computers. So, I learn the hard way. But surprisingly nothing has gone wrong with this mod. (YET)

Like I said. I'll get pictures once I'm done. I'm not a very good artist but bare with me lol.

Alright, I just primered it. No turning back now.

Oh, for you those who have failed to forget tha cables in the case where taped up. And the USB was taped over. So, it's all good.
