Recommend a good laptop please

Hello. I am going to be looking for a laptop soon (current desktop only user) and would like some advice and or suggestions. I am looking for something smaller, but not too small. Probably 12" screen or around there. I won't be using it for anything other than maybe a little music, web surfing, school work, etc. So it won't need to be super powerful but I will want speed. Portability is my primary need, hence the smaller dimension. Budget is... hmm lets say at max $600, or around there.

yeah he is right but if it doesn't matter or isn't important then it should be fine or you could buy one. But then if you take it places you might as well have a normal laptop
 
Yeah i realize now that the 12" is not right. I just want a basic smaller laptop which doesn't lack too much in computing power.
