Cheap CPU almost free

Corsair is one of the better brands to start off with while the HX line is their most recommended. If you can grab it cheap remember there won't be any returns being EBay and a private source. Cheap price and gamble for a good make at least.

Well atleast they have paypal. So if it is a fraud, you can get your money back?

But I doubt that's an actual PSU in their. For $1... it's most likely a fake or just the box.

First off, it's a PSU, not a CPU, so wrong section.

Secondly, good luck getting it for $1! Not going to happen...

Generally, it's a good PSU, Yeah. Anything by Corsair tends to be of a good quality. Bid on it and see if you win!

Definitely worth a bid, but don't plan on paying a dollar, like Kornowski said. It's $119.99 shipped at newegg, so if you can get it cheaper than that, it may be worth it. Buying from ebay can be risky, so keep that in mind as well.

Every time someone gets excited about an eBay price, I tell them, "Wait until the last few minutes. It'll jump up like crazy."

Unless it's a Buy-It-Now price, I'll believe it when I see it. It has 4 days left and it already has 2 bids. My guess is it goes for $100.

And that's a PSU, not a CPU.

That's why I pointed out it was a gamble since there's no dealer exchange policy or new factory warranty provided when buying through EBay. The initial bid seen there is typical since all items start low and then soar once someone outbids someone else. If you can grab it for about $40-$60 then you still could do alright however.

That low it's still a gamble but better then some cheap off name piece of whatever as a supply goes. If the price climbs up close to $100 don't even bother! There's a ton of 500-600w models by good makes that would be seen note with a return policy and manufacturer's warranty intact being brand new not used!

Too bad ceewi1 isn't in on this thread. Power supplies are his game there and he could give a rating as to how good that particular model is compared to the HX line or those by other brands. As long as you can get it while the bidding prices are low take a chance if you want.

If someone is pushing out a defective one at least you won't be out any large amount of cash due note. As a word of caution the word for EBay and other sites like it is still "Buy at your own risk"!

thread moved to appropriate category....

oh and learn to use ebay, its a bit obvious it would never stay at $1
Exactly. I almost always start my auctions at $0.99 for two reasons, one being that it's cheaper to list and two being that more people are tempted to watch/bid on it.

I always crack up when people find so-called "steals" on eBay, and I'm like, "uh...there are x number of days left...that price means absolutely nothing."

What you do when seeing a $.99 price is place a $20 bid on any item you know sees a far higher retail tag. If no one decides to outbid with something like $30 the item is yours. First you have to figure out the maximum you would pay out however so if someone does bid higher you can simply say: "no thanks".

what i do if i really want something bad i sit and wait until the last 1 min then put a bid in for my max i would pay!

its worked everytime but i dont like doing it because i think it spoils it so i only do it for stuff i really need like a mouse mat or a keychain lol

At the last minute why bid the max you would pay instead of simply topping the last by a small margain just to catch it in time? You would likely save some of your own cash by doing it that way. If your max is $50 and the last highest bid is $35 you would simply put in a $40 bid right as time is running out to see if you got it.

That doesn't work because it doesn't necessarily show you the winning bidder's max he's willing to pay. It might be at $35 because no one has bid it higher, but if he put a max bid of $45 (which isn't shown to you), your $40 bid will be overridden by his $45. If there's no more time left to rebid, you're screwed if you were willing to pay up to $50 all along.

The idea is to place a reasonable bid while still leaving room to go higher if needed. And top bids are listed. Why do you think you see $.99 and $15 the next simply because the next person then has to outbid that.
