Hello, It's not usual i would turn to a forum for help, but everyone else seems to me stupid, except all the users on this site, but, my external harddrive has left on it 200gigs, but it wont alow me to put anything on it, and i mean anything, not even a .TXT file, and i need help sorting this out, so could the lovely people at this forum please help me and thank you alot.

If you can still read and copy from the drive you haven't lost data at least while the inability to write to the drive suggests possible bad write heads on the drive itself. How long have you been using the drive itself? If it just bought lately you may be able to see an exchange or refund when returning it.

try getting oeverything off u need, and format the HDD. Unsuall. also try to google this issue. If you purchased it recently, RMA.

That's good advice as long as the drive can still be read from. As far as reformatting if it's a usb model reformatting from the factory Fat32 to NTFS is advised for Windows users running 2000-Vista.
