Question about internet at work

I don't know if I'm allowed to ask this here, but my work has some service up that blocks out a LOT of sites. Sometimes when I am simply researching I will get access denied. The main thing that gets blocked is personal email. Occasionally there are emails that would be beneficial if I were able to read them before work was over. So I am wondering if there is anyway I can bypass this site blockage and get on my email??

Sorry, but I'm not quite sure how I would go about doing that. Care to explain?

When using a proxy you can browse othersites from the proxy. It's like using the internet from a different IP adress.

Oh damn, thanks for trying, but I get blocked under category "Proxy Avoidance." I do remember using a site like this when I was back in high school though. They block everything here. Basically I have google, CF, and wiki

i would talk to the main IT there. tell him that the web filter is to restrictive and your productivity has gone down. if he is the type that does not care, take it to your boss and tell him your productivity has gone down.
